This is considered the beginning of the lunar cycle. Each cycle takes about 29.5 days to complete. From what I have seen, there are two different definitions for a new moon.

Yule

In short, Yule is the winter solstice. This is the shortest day and longest night of the entire year! After this day, the days will start to get longer, so this is a celebration of the return of the light.

Some pagans and witches like to have certain items to incorporate into their rituals and spells. A classic example of this is rose quartz stones for healing or love workings.

Since this is the very first blog post of Electic Circle of Paganism, we will be going over the basics of what paganism and witchcraft are. Just keep in mind that there is no universal definition of either paganism or witchcraft; they can mean different things to different people.
